Privacy
Last updated November 2, 2026
This policy explains what RAW MATERIAL (“the business”, “we”) collects on rawmaterialslab.com, why, who else handles it and how long it is kept. The site is only for people 18 or older.
What we collect
Your account. Name, email, password (stored only as a one-way hash), and if you add them, your phone number and shipping address. We also keep your email preferences, your account status (approval), when you accepted the terms and confirmed you are 18 or older, and when you last signed in.
Orders. Name, email, phone, shipping address and billing address, the items, amounts and payment method. We also record which terms you accepted and when, your 18+ confirmation, your research-use confirmation, and a one-way hash of your IP address (used as part of that record and to limit unpaid orders). Your browser remembers the last 10 Cash App and Zelle orders placed on it, so you can reopen their payment page.
Payments. Card numbers are typed into fields hosted by our card processor, NMI, and never reach our servers; we receive a one-time token and the result of the charge. For Cash App and Zelle orders we see the payment in our own account and keep the sender name you give us, so we can match your payment.
Messages. What you send through the Contact page or Messages, with your name, email, topic and order number. A guest conversation opens only with its private link; we store a one-way hash of that link, not the link itself.
Referral points. Your code, your points history and, for a cash-out, the name, email, payout method and the Cash App, Zelle, PayPal or Venmo handle you enter. When someone opens a referral link we count the visit once a day per visitor, stored as a one-way hash of their IP address, browser and the code, never the IP address itself.
Server logs. Like most websites, our web server logs each request (IP address, page, time, browser). The app's own log records errors and, for an email that is not sent (email switched off, or a failed send), its recipient address and subject, never the message body.
How we use it
To take, ship and support your orders, run your account, answer your messages, run referral points and cash-outs, keep the site secure (for example by limiting sign-in attempts) and keep tax and accounting records. When email is switched on, we email order, payment, shipping, refund, cancellation and password-reset notices and tell you about replies to your messages; until then, these are shown on the site, in your account and in Messages. Product news only if you turn it on in Email preferences. We do not sell or rent your personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not give it to Well Deserved Skin.
Who else handles it
NMI processes card payments when card payments are on. Cash App and Zelle carry payments you send with them, under their own terms and privacy policies.
Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from attacks, so every request passes through it; its Web Analytics counts page visits and load times without cookies.
Google Fonts serves the site's fonts, so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address and browser details.
Our email provider delivers our emails when email is switched on.
The shipping carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx or DHL) gets the name, address and phone number on your package.
Our hosting provider runs the server where the site, its database and its logs are stored.
Anyone the law requires us to share information with, such as in response to a valid legal request.
Cookies and browser storage
Two cookies, neither used for advertising: rml_session keeps you signed in for 30 days or until you sign out, and rml_ref is set only when you open a referral link and remembers that code for 30 days. Your browser also stores your cart and the last 10 Cash App and Zelle orders placed on it (local storage, sent to us only when you check out or reopen an order). Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie, for example when it checks that a visitor is not a bot.
Do Not Track
We do not track you across other websites or for advertising, so the site works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
How long we keep it
Account details stay until you delete your account (or we delete it). Sign-in sessions end after 30 days, or when you sign out or use “Sign out of all devices”. Password-reset links work once and expire after 1 hour.
Orders are kept for tax and accounting records. When an account is deleted, its orders stay with the items and amounts, but the name, email, phone and addresses are removed (the hashed IP address and any payment sender name stay with the payment record). Unpaid Cash App and Zelle orders are cancelled at the end of their hold time and kept as cancelled orders.
Messages stay until the conversation is deleted: a guest can delete it from its link, and deleting an account deletes the conversations started from it.
Referral points, your code and its visit counts are deleted with your account. Cash-out requests are kept as payment records, with the name, email and handle they were made with.
Logs. Web server logs, which record the pages requested and the visitor's IP address, are rotated daily and kept for 14 days. The app's log, which includes the email address and subject of messages the site sends, is kept in the server's system journal for up to 7 days (capped at 1 GB). A copy also goes to the server's system log, which is rotated weekly and deleted after about 5 weeks.
Backups. A copy of the database is made every day, and each daily copy is deleted after 30 days. Copies taken just before a site update, or set aside as business records, are kept until we delete them.
A record of changes staff make to accounts (for example approvals and status changes) is kept for security, including the email of the account changed.
Your choices
From the Account page you can edit your details, change email preferences, download a copy of your data, sign out of all devices or delete your account. An account cannot be deleted while it has an order awaiting payment or paid and not yet shipped. For anything else, message us through the Contact page.
Security
The site uses HTTPS, passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, and card details never reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you do not use anywhere else.
Age
You must be 18 or older to create an account or order. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version, and changes apply from that date.
